Why History is Influential to Our Future
I think that history is influential to our future and not necessarily important because what we’ve been through shouldn’t strictly determine what we’re going to accomplish in the future. I think that we should take history in to consideration because we can learn from our mistakes, it helps us to appreciate the things and freedoms that we have, and it shows us how far we’ve come as a whole. History helps us learn from our mistakes, appreciate what we have now, and show us how far we’re come. Not all things in history may be correct and completely truthful but we get the gist. Why take something that could possibly be a lie, to heart? I figure, as long as you’ve learned an important lesson, something that may change the future for the better, then go for it.
If we never look back on what we’ve done wrong then we may end up doing it again.  “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” If we didn’t go back and study our history then we could potentially end up in a much worse situation.  I’m not saying we should focus on only or pass, but it sure won’t hurt to study and learn from it. Take the lesson, learn, and move on.
Back then we didn’t even have as much freedom as we do now. Just look at how far we've come. We’ve created fabulous inventions, buildings, and societies. Not only that, but we've come a long way racially. Now we still have our problems, or fights and killings, but it is nothing like back then. If anything, I would like to think that we are more accepting of others and their cultures.
By looking back we can see how far we’ve come and celebrate. We’ve conquered the impossible, beat the odds, and survived what seemed like the worst. I think we’ve come a long way from horse drawn carriages to the hottest sports cars, from telegrams to texting, and from lanterns to electric lights. If anything, I’m very thankful for the amazing health care that keeps millions alive, including myself.  I absolutely love the sense of unity that we’ve also developed and how accepting we’ve become.
In conclusion, history can be important part of our future and could just as well help determine and influence our future. Again, do go relying heavily on the future because we learn best from our own experiences. It can simply help steer us in the right direction. Help us from making the same mistakes over and over. It might even help us from creating new ones.
