1. The name of the person I selected is Rita.
2. She's located in Canada but she use to live in LA.
3. She sleeps in a trailer in the woods that she bought,
4. She has family but they do not live with her and I don't think they have any contact with her either. The one friend that I know that she had passed away due to being out in the cold for so long.
5. She did not give much detail but I think that the place she was renting cost too much and had taken a lot out of her paycheck.
6. To be honest, I don't know. You can do many things if you put your mind to it I guess.
7. To rejoin society, I think that maybe she would need a stable place of living and a decent job.
8. Yes, I do have sympathy for Rita. I have sympathy for anyone suffering. I don't know all there is to her story and thankfully I don't know what it's like to be homeless but almost everyone deserves to live happy lives.
9. Yes, I believe there is plenty I could do. Such as donate and volunteer.

Poetry Assignment 1
Part 1:
When I was young me and my mama had beef
Seventeen years old kicked out on the streets
Though back at the time, I never thought I'd see her face
Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place
Suspended from school; and scared to go home, I was a fool
with the big boys, breakin all the rules
I shed tears with my baby sister
Over the years we was poorer than the other little kids
And even though we had different daddy's, the same drama
When things went wrong we'd blame mama
I reminisce on the stress I caused, it was hell
Huggin on my mama from a jail cell
And who'd think in elementary?
Heeey! I see the penitentiary, one day
And runnin from the police, that's right
Mama catch me, put a whoopin to my backside
And even as a crack fiend, mama
You always was a black queen, mama
I finally understand
for a woman it ain't easy tryin to raise a man
You always was committed
A poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did it
There's no way I can pay you back
But the plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
[Chorus: Reggie Green & "Sweet Franklin" w/ 2Pac]
Lady...
Don't cha know we love ya? Sweet lady
Dear mama
Place no one above ya, sweet lady
You are appreciated
Don't cha know we love ya?
[second and third chorus, "And dear mama" instead of "Dear mama"]
[Verse Two: 2Pac]
Now ain't nobody tell us it was fair
No love from my daddy cause the coward wasn't there
He passed away and I didn't cry, cause my anger
wouldn't let me feel for a stranger
They say I'm wrong and I'm heartless, but all along
I was lookin for a father he was gone
I hung around with the Thugs, and even though they sold drugs
They showed a young brother love
I moved out and started really hangin
I needed money of my own so I started slangin
I ain't guilty cause, even though I sell rocks
It feels good puttin money in your mailbox
I love payin rent when the rent's due
I hope ya got the diamond necklace that I sent to you
Cause when I was low you was there for me
And never left me alone because you cared for me
And I could see you comin home after work late
You're in the kitchen tryin to fix us a hot plate
Ya just workin with the scraps you was given
And mama made miracles every Thanksgivin
But now the road got rough, you're alone
You're tryin to raise two bad kids on your own
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
[Chorus]
[Verse Three: 2Pac]
Pour out some liquor and I reminisce, cause through the drama
I can always depend on my mama
And when it seems that I'm hopeless
You say the words that can get me back in focus
When I was sick as a little kid
To keep me happy there's no limit to the things you did
And all my childhood memories
Are full of all the sweet things you did for me
And even though I act craaazy
I gotta thank the Lord that you made me
There are no words that can express how I feel
You never kept a secret, always stayed real
And I appreciate, how you raised me
And all the extra love that you gave me
I wish I could take the pain away
If you can make it through the night there's a brighter day
Everything will be alright if ya hold on
It's a struggle everyday, gotta roll on
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
[Chorus]
Sweet lady
And dear mama

Part 2:
I chose this song because it's one I've grown up listening to and one that identify the most with. This song talks about 2pac and the struggles he had being raised in a single parent home. The writers purpose in this some is to show his love for his mom and how much he really appreciated her even though he rebelled and didn't listen. The writers stance on this situation is that his mom is a very strong and independent woman. It talks about how even though he acted out and didn't listen, she was still there for him as a mother.

Why History is Influential to Our Future

Why History is Influential to Our
Future
I think that history is influential
to our future and not necessarily important because what we’ve been through
shouldn’t strictly determine what we’re going to accomplish in the future. I
think that we should take history in to consideration because we can learn from
our mistakes, it helps us to appreciate the things and freedoms that we have,
and it shows us how far we’ve come as a whole. History helps us learn from our
mistakes, appreciate what we have now, and show us how far we’re come. Not all
things in history may be correct and completely truthful but we get the gist.
Why take something that could possibly be a lie, to heart? I figure, as long as
you’ve learned an important lesson, something that may change the future for
the better, then go for it.
If we never
look back on what we’ve done wrong then we may end up doing it again. “Those who don’t learn from history are
doomed to repeat it.” If we didn’t go back and study our history then we could
potentially end up in a much worse situation. I’m not saying we should focus on only or
pass, but it sure won’t hurt to study and learn from it. Take the lesson,
learn, and move on.
Back then we
didn’t even have as much freedom as we do now. Just look at how far we've come. We’ve created fabulous inventions, buildings, and societies. Not only that, but we've come a long way racially. Now we still have our problems, or fights and
killings, but it is nothing like back then. If anything, I would like to think
that we are more accepting of others and their cultures.
By looking
back we can see how far we’ve come and celebrate. We’ve conquered the
impossible, beat the odds, and survived what seemed like the worst. I think
we’ve come a long way from horse drawn carriages to the hottest sports cars,
from telegrams to texting, and from lanterns to electric lights. If anything,
I’m very thankful for the amazing health care that keeps millions alive,
including myself. I absolutely love the
sense of unity that we’ve also developed and how accepting we’ve become.
In
conclusion, history can be important part of our future and could just as well
help determine and influence our future. Again, do go relying heavily on the
future because we learn best from our own experiences. It can simply help steer
us in the right direction. Help us from making the same mistakes over and over.
It might even help us from creating new ones.

Cinderella theme
When looking at Cinderella the theme I got from it was to always be kind. The reason I say this is because she was kind to everyone and everything. Even in the end when she could have gotten rid of her stepmother and stepsisters she didn't. She didn't punish then orhave them beheaded but instead told then she wished then luck and continued on her happy little way.

learning style
Baseed on the assessment that I took, I'm a visual learner. I agree with this because if I see someone do something then I'm almost able to redo it completely. I once saw someone put up tile and more I can go back and do it. If you're active and keep me visually engaged then in good and will likely stay awake.
